Me and a friend stopped by for the first time since they started opening and the burgers tasted pretty good, but were very greasy. The fries I got were pretty salty though. You get to choose from a list of toppings and condiments and they made it right off the bat. The place was clean, but I'm not a big fan of the layout.

After 2 years we decided to give it another shot. They got something wrong on both our orders and it tasted just as bad as I remembered.

I just love this place! They always have great customer service with friendly, engaged employees. The food is always good, fresh and fast. Plus a bucket of beer for $10? Can't beat that!

SMASH! Got $60 for free here and let me tell you what, I enjoyed eating at this place. However, it's a burger place. I mean, nothing special to me. Would I go back? Is Darryl bidding? YUUUUP.! I still have $30 to this place and that means, yes, I did spend $30 the first time here and I ate the whole darn thing! I am planning on saving my appetite up and heading back at a time where I can get the hottest chicken that they've got. It was good the first time around.

I recently tried Smashburger because I saw their menu online and it looked appetizing. When I got there, right away I was disappointed by the appearance and cleanliness of the place. The booth seats were torn and the floor was very dirty. It just didn't look like it was taken care of. There was also a vacuum randomly standing in the walkway with no one near it. We ordered our food and sat down to wait for it to come to the table. I went with my husband and he ordered a beef avocado burger while I order the chicken avocado sandwich/burger. They both tasted ok but the quality of the food wasn't very good and the avocados didn't seem too fresh. I wasn't satisfied with the meal there and I won't be going back there. It was probably one step above a fast food (Burger King or McDonald's) burger or almost equal to that quality. I was expecting better. The customer service was good and the people there were very friendly. So that was a plus. The building on the outside looks really nice which can be deceiving since everything inside looks torn/dirty. There are just many other great options around the area for great burgers for similar prices.

For a quck, fresh, cheap meal, I would stop here again in the future. My choice meal was a BYO black bean burger with a ton of veggies. It was a giant burger, expanding wide over the multigrain bun. I had to eat part of it with a fork because it was so crumbly. I did enjoy that it was fresh rather than a prepackaged type veggie burger. Pleeeeeeease add the sweet potato fries!

Well another new burger place in the area. I have been driving around trying different versions of the Juicy Lucy and decided to take a break and just try another new fangled deluxe burger joint. Despite the economy in destruct mode it does not seem to be stopping people from opening new burger places of late. I guess something as American as the hamburger should be standing out in our countries hour of need. Well Smash Burger seems to have done quite well for itself. I had the 1/2 pound Twin City burger that has two types of cheese and the fixings. Most burgers these days come with the basics and you have to ask for Tomatoes, lettuce, pickle, that sort of thing. This came with all the fixings and was a very tasty burger. The 1/2 pound Pattie is pressed out so it's not super thick but you get a burger that is much larger than the bun, not a bad thing. My only beef (no pun intended) would be the mayo. I should have asked to go light on the mayo but they put way to much on. Made for one very messy burger, although with two types of cheese, a burger bigger than the bun and tomatoes it was bound to be messy to start with. The fries were very solid. We ordered both the regular fries and the Smash Fries and both were good shoestring style. The Smash Fries have different spices and were OK, not worth anything additional, I'm not sure they charge more but I think so. The service was very good for a fast food style joint. They do bring your burger out to your table and they have a nice little patio so waiting wasn't a problem. I was surprised by how fast it came out though. Cooked very well and ready to roll. They have beer and wine so that is always a plus. The burger must have been 2000 calories so I think I will come back sparingly but it was very good and well worth the trip. KT

The service is great and it was very clean. They have lemon to put in your water which is great. I had the Twin Cities burger and it was one of the best burgers I've ever had! So good! My only complaint is the sweet potato fries were very flavorless.

  • Saby K.

I had the Twins Cities Smashburger. I will definately come back again. I love checking out burger joints, and I prefered this over 5 Guys. The fries are delicious. You are paying more for a "gourmet" type burger- be warned. Service was good and workers are helpful if you need suggestions on what to try on your first visit.

3.5 stars would probably be a more appropriate rating of this place by me based on my two trips here. To be fair, on my first visit I decided not to order a burger and got the buffalo chicken sandwich instead. The service was quick and friendly enough for a fast casual restaurant. I shared an order of the Smash and sweet potato fries with my friends; both of which I thought were OK. My chicken sandwich was good but nothing spectacular for the $6 I paid for it. I finally got around to ordering an actual burger on my second visit which was much better (of course) than the buffalo chicken sandwich I originally ordered. You can't really go wrong with a mushroom Swiss burger and Smashburger did not disappoint. It's hard to compete with my favorite (Five Guys) burger place but Smashburger does a great job with the quality of its food and level of service provided.

I'm going to have to join the chorus and say that my experience here was thoroughly underwhelming. I did the Twin Cities burger -- heck, I was even a little excited about it based on the description -- but it was just disappointing. The burger itself was overdone, and frankly I was kind of surprised they didn't even ask how I wanted it done in the first place. Adding insult to injury, it was also greasy enough that a bite or two in I managed to dribble grease all over my pants. The fries were pretty good, but come on folks. They're fries tossed in oil and herbs. You could do this at home with some frozen Ore-Ida fries and probably fifty cents worth of dried herbs and oil. I'm really not sure where all this SmashBurger buzz has been coming from this year and I see I'm not alone. If we're seriously going to put SmashBurger up as a contender for one of the best burgers in the city, I think we may just have lost our collective minds. I can think of a dozen other places in the city that better deserve that honor.

So, I have been a long-time vegetarian...until recently. I decided to see how "the other half live" and eat some meat... SmashBurger was on my list of places to try... My first real experience at SmashBurger was at a Yelp event (and at the St. Anthony location). The food was so tasty and amazing...that I couldn't wait to go back! My second trip to SmashBurger (this time at the Golden Valley location) and my food was less tasty and far less amazing. I'm not sure what to attribute it to. Maybe the guy manning the burger grill was just having an "off" day? Maybe this location isn't as good as the other one? Maybe my first experience was so good because we were at an event? Or because the founder was milling around? I'm not sure....either way.... Both times, I got the same burger - the Twin Cities SmashBurger. On this visit... My burger was "smashed" into oblivion. My cheese wasn't even close to being melted. There was a half gallon of mayo on my burger (okay, not really, but there was a lot - I had to wipe most of it off). My onions weren't cooked and actually had a "sour" taste to them. I still thought it was kinda tasty, but I was sad and felt let down...especially since my first experience at a SB was sooooo damn good! They still get 3 stars from me. The place was clean, the service was pretty good, and they have an outdoor patio. I'm not sure if I will go back to a SmashBurger or not...the jury is still out on that one...

Ew. I am sorry but I probably will not go back. It was almost like a glorified fast food restaurant. Burgers are suppose to be greasy... but greasier that a high sschooler's face - probably not so much. For granted, burgers are not suppose to be anything that will be on a normal diet - but this is a meal that won't make you happy when you leave. To each their own, and I will respect anyone who enjoys this place, but as for me, I am sorry I won't open my wallet anytime soon to that place.

Boyfriend and I decided to get a quick burger for dinner, so we headed to Smashburger. I ordered the Spicy Baja, and he got the Avocado Club. Service was good and very quick. I received my burger after a short wait, but it had the saddest serving of guacamole. It had to be a little over a tablespoon. I was sad since the guac was the only reason I ordered it.

  • Evik J.

I have been to several Smashburger, several times each. The ingredients are consistently fresh and good quality. The food is always a step above every other chain restaurant, but it's no match for any really good burger joint. The service and atmosphere are adequate, but nothing special. The one really positive thing about Smashburger is their limited menu. They have just a few items so the line tends to move pretty quickly, and the food gets served pretty quickly.

  • Jason K.

I had a 2 for 1 at Smashburger but I already had some lunch. The coupon needed to be used by the end of the month, so I ordered a chicken spicy baja and Smashburger spicy baja. This is what a chicken spicy baja should have, Pepper jack cheese, guacamole, lettuce, tomato, onion, spicy chipotle mayo and fresh jalapeños on a spicy chipotle bun. Mine had a bun and a chicken breast on it. Yep. No toppings. What!? I tried the smash burger warmed up and it was awesome! Very flavorful and juicy. The chicken breast was actually not bad. I would have given it 5 stars for the smash burger, but minus 2 for completely missing my chicken order. It took forever to use the coupon too. If you are going to give out a 2 for 1 when you join the email club, at least train the employees correctly.

Not a fan.... the burger seemed to fall apart, making it difficult to enjoy. The fries had so much rosemary, the smell was too overwhelming to get past.

I can say with a smile on my face and an overly full stomach that I have had every burger/chicken sandwich on the menu (courtesy of a YELP event). I have never had a bad meal at this place. The food is always fresh, hot and delicious. I don't normal visit Smashburger unless I'm craving it and when I do crave it, it's usually gone just as fast as it came to my table. My go to option is the Smash Chicken Spicy Baja with a side of smash fries. The sweet potato fries are also tasty, but I prefer the rosemary, olive oil and garlic mixture the smash fries are tossed in. Bonus, they also serve beer. I guess we will just have to wait and see if they end up going with wings as well to complete the burger, beer and wings trio. The restaurant is always clean and welcoming with a friendly staff. It also does help that it's really close by, but I guess that can sort of be dangerous as well If you sign up for their mailing list they usually send out coupons ($2 off, free fries, etc.) every month or so. If you can't wait that long and you have been to Smashburger be sure to keep your receipt and fill out the survey, this also will give you a free order of fries at your next visit, which I believe has to be used within 30 days of your last purchase.

Never again Burger still raw in center Luke warm I'm not sure what has happened to this place. They used to have good burgers

  • Sophie C.

This is one of my favorite places to get a burger at! Most of the time, I had that "greasy" full feeling after eating burger; however, after eating at burger here, I felt a very "clean full." I have been here about three or four times, and I usually get one of their burgers that were already customized. My personal favorite is the Spicy Baja with guacamole. It has a little kick but not too much, and everything tasted fresh! I love the fries there; they are cut into really thin and long slices with sprinkles of herb, which makes fries a little less greasy. The service there is always fast and friendly! I would go back again if I am craving for burgers!! I would also pick this over Five Guys as Five Guys taste good, but it makes me feel sick afterwards.

This place is awesommeeeee. They made me feel so welcomed and I can tell they truly care about you as their customer. While I was waiting for my food I was watching management greet every one that walked in and still be attentive to those who are already dining. On the other hand, I noticed that they are always cleaning. During my first visit when I was there for approximately half an hour, the cashier was wiping down tables, cleaning and vacuuming nonstop. This time, the cashier was vacuuming. Talk about hard workers! As for the burgers, on my first visit, I ordered the spicy baja burger. I made a mess. The guacamole was dripping everywhere but I didn't care. You should know though, I smashed that Smashburger...(hehe). This time I created my own Smashburger: multi-grain bun with spicy chipotle mayo, jalapeno, spinach, lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, pickles, and cucumbers. I love love spinach and cucumbers and was excited to try it on a burger. Definitely not a disappointment! Their Smashfries that's tossed with rosemary, olive oil and garlic is a MUST have. Even their ketchup packaging was cute. Overall, they deserve every five stars for their amazing customer service, hard work, and yummy burger and fries.

This is a review of my first impression. So the place was kind of crowded but not overwhelming. The customer service was excellent. Smiling staff members really seem to care about your experience. The burgers had a lot of flavor compared to 5 guys. I had the deep fried pickles and they were sooooooo good. The smash fries are awesome and their shakes are good. The entire restraint was very clean including the restroom.

I like the food. Fairly priced. This particular Labor Day they may have been under staffed because the food was slow and the place was a mess.

    (2)
  • Doug G.

The only reason for 3 stars is because of the food. The cashier was slow which caused a huge line. The counter where the cooks place the food to be delivered was constantly over filled. The lady passing out the food was slow and confused. Wrong orders being passed out constantly. Take out order customers kept coming back in with wrong food. Looked very short staffed for lunch rush. Check your take out before you leave! Like I said food was good!

I loved how attentive the manager (lady in red shirt) was. Very fast but efficient customer service with a smile. Burgers are yummy and so was the oreo shake. Loved it

This is great place to have a burger. You can choose to sit outside or inside. Its not a big place, but the helpful team running the place makes up for the space. I ordered the Twin Cities burger and the Avacado club chicken. Both were awesome. I'll definitely be visiting again soon.

    (5)
  • Kris K.

I know it was dinner rush time but the place was pretty messy. Don't get the fried pickle chips, they were very greasy and way too salty. Burgers fixings were also not very flavorful and patty was pinker than the last few times we have eaten here

    (2)
  • Mezzo D.

I keep saying I'm not overly impressed with Smashburger, but I keep going back. It's tasty, very salty, quick service, and they do a nice job of custom orders. One thing I do like is that I can get fresh jalapenos and fresh avocado slices on any burger. Not guacamole or pickled jalapenos. And the Smash fries are pretty good.

    (4)
  • David W.

Good burgers and fries at a decent price. But, gotta say that 5 Guys is a little better.

Nothing like waiting 20 mins for your food, only to get cold fries and the wrong burger

  • Nicole M.

If I could do 3.5 I would, for the excellence of the sweet potato fries. It is not easy to get those crispy and they did. I also sampled my son's Smash fries, pretty tasty! but he sampled more of my sweet potato fries :-) Everything we ordered ( Smashburger, chicken sandwich and veggie burger) tasted above average for an inexpensive burger place, I would have given 4 stars if not for the minor mistakes on our orders. One person in my party ordered a shake with no whip, and it came with whip anyway, though our server did offer to take it off. He did not really care that much so he kept it. My spicy baja black bean burger was just the right spiciness, but was supposed to have guacamole on it. Since this was my first visit, it took me a few bites and rechecking the menu to realize this had happened. Anyhow, if I am shopping in the area, I would certainly go there again.

  • Kimberly T.

I am a fan! However, I've never used so many napkins in my entire life during a meal. The classic smashburger has everything a burger needs. It is greasy & that's what I like. The smashfries are good, but the rosemary makes a messy meal even more messy. I prefer the regular french fries for that reason & that reason only. The classic smashchicken is also really good. However, I like the egg bun better than a multigrain one, so the burger wins! I'll also add that they have the COOLEST ketchup packets in the universe. It allows you to either dip your fries in it or squirt it out!

  • Orion B.

After hearing about this place I finally went with a friend and we both really enjoyed everything. The burger was juicy w/very good bacon and the SMASH fries will keep me coming back. Was happy to get different dipping sauces for fries w/o being charged extra. The burgers here have a great flavor and I'll gladly go the extra distance to enjoy them when I need to satisfy my SMASH craving.

    (4)
  • Lloyd M.

Pretty good food here but wasn't quite as impressed as with other locations. They really need better side dishes. The Burgers are fantastic but the Smash Fries are oily and soggy and the Sweet Potato Fries get old real fast. If you want just a good burger and maybe a nice fresh malt this place is the right way to go!

    (4)
  • Brian G.

In celebration of National Cheeseburger Day my entire office ordered burgers from this place. Collectively we SMASHED them.... we vote YES!

    (5)
  • Jay F.

Burger was a solid "B" and offered great bun and topping choices. Fries were not worth the raves I've seen since they're previously frozen and not fresh cut - it's obvious too. I would definitely return, it's just not groundbreaking with so many options out there.

    (3)
  • Adam S.

I'd like to give it 3.5 starts, but it wont let me. The burger is fine, I like that they have a bleu cheese option, but it's not great. I've had better burgers, but far worse. But good options and choices The fries really bring it down a notch for me. I like homecut fries and not the shoe string stuff they bring out. I dislike their smash fries with the rosemary seasoning. I usually just skip the fries now, which I'd normally call blasphemy....

I went with a friend who is GAGA for Smashburger, so I expected to have a most glorious dining experience. Sadly, this did not occur. I ordered the 1/2-pound Twin Cities Smashburger, which was initially tasty but did not sit well in my stomach and I had the worst night as a result. I ordered the Smash Fries and while they were unique, I doubt I will order them anytime soon. That is, if I return to Smashburger anytime soon. Update: I went back in February and had a much better dining experience. I also experienced much better customer service. :) The young woman who took my order was really offended that I called her ma'am. In fact, her attitude seemed kinda foul as a result for the remainder of our encounter. Thank goodness there was a nicer lady who offered to take our table settings once we finished eating.

Fast food meets good food. Old fashioned meets today's world. Tasty burger meets my hungry mouth. The burgers and milk shakes are great. The fries and onion strings are great too, but pair them with the dips served along side and they become wonderful. If you want a good new fashioned burger experience and don't have time to waste, give Smashburger a try.

    (4)
  • Nicole P.

While some folks prefer a thick, meaty burger, I'm the kind of gal that likes a thinner beef patty - which is probably why I'm a fan of Smashburger. The patty is the perfect thickness and still stays really juicy post-smash on the flat top. I tend to go with the basic All-American burger or the Classic, but the TC's burger is my splurge when I'm feeling extra cheesy. I like the options offered for sides (especially the sweet potato fries and fried pickles), but for me, the burgers are the clear stars.

  • BK J.

Average burgers, really, just average. If you walk in behind several other people it can take a while for your order to be taken. After ordering you fill your beverage and grab a table. I was in there a little after 11am and the table I sat down at was definitely not clean. There were crumbs all over it. Other tables in the area didn't have as many crumbs but I was able to see finger and hand prints on them. When you are a burger place it is wise to use good toppings, especially the fresh ones. I was very disappointed to find anemic pink slices of tomatoes on the bun. The usual toppings for a burger are lettuce, tomato and onion, along with various other condiments and pickles. If you can't manage to have good quality tomatoes you should get out of the burger business. How hard is it to order a few extra tomatoes so they can be held a day or two to ripen? If this location wants to improve their ranking on Yelp they can do two things: 1. Clean 2. Use good quality ingredients. Get some real tomatoes for petes sake.

  • Scott T.

It was a perfect place for a good, quick burger for my family of five. I wasn't a fan of the fries..or the smash fries.

    (4)
  • Kat W.

The atmosphere has gotten quite a bit better. However, the whole food production thing has not. I ordered special sauce on my burger. There was no special sauce. A dining partner ordered regular fries, they got SmashFries. Cool. For me, it's MUCH closer than Snuffy's in Minnetonka or Annie's. So it's nice to know that if I want a good burger (and by good I mean flavor, presentation and the way it is cooked), I don't have to go far. But the total inattention to detail ensures that I will need to be REALLY desperate to come here.

  • Jen T.

The place was clean and modern, waiter was very nice and helpful. Burgers were good, we ordered spicy baja and mushroom swiss burgers. Both of them delicious, fresh ingredients and the baja was hot from fresh slices jalapeno, a tad bit greasy but it was expected. We ordered smashfries and sweet potato fries. Infused with rosemary, olive oil and garlic, very tasty. I love the sweet potato fries, the sweetness from sweet potatoes were just right. Overall good food, decent price and wonderful service, definitely will be back. Oh we can call and give our opinion and they will give us smashside. And there is a encouragement to write a review for them at several websites including yelp on their receipt, what a innovative way to do a marketing.

I got the chicken sandwich, which was a flattened piece of chicken breast on a bun. I know that's their "thing," to flatten things and fry them up on a hot plate, but perhaps it's time to stop and ask: "why would you do this to a piece of meat that never did anything to hurt you?" Yeah, let's make this juicy patty or chicken breast into a piece of jerky, why preserve its natural juices? I also tried the burger, which was a flattened patty in a bun. To repeat: what's with the flattening? Haven't they figured out that pressing meat is bad? If I'm watching my weight, I may press a burger slightly on the grill to remove some grease, but this was overboard. And how do they manage to crush the patties, while keeping them disgustingly greasy? It looked like they submerged the patty in liquefied lard. I like a juicy burger, but this was just nasty. They get two stars on the strength of the fixins, which doesn't include the fries, just the toppings. If you want a good burger, try Five Guys, Lion's Tap, or Matt's Bar. This place is OVERRATED and I am shocked it got rated the best burger in town (I can't recall which publication gave it that, but gimme a break, this is a serious burger town!).

I had a Groupon and went here one Friday night in September. It's a quick and easy place to stop for a yummy burger. I'd recommend the classic smashburger and smash fries.

    (4)
  • Soma J.

The burgers were salty and greasy just like the God's intended. Even Zeus made mistakes though, such as the burgers slipping and sliding off the bun. Hey, if I wanted a fine dining restaurant I'd go to one. Shelley, our server, and Renee were very patient with newbies like me and my kids. I got a mushroom Swiss burger with sweet potato fries and I'll be back for more...sorry Weight Watchers friends...the burgers are worth the points on occasion. Come on in and give them a try.

I fell in love with Smashburger in Denver so I come here, think I'll try it and WOW. So hit or miss. Sometimes greasy and pink, sometimes done just right, sometimes the oil tastes stale thus ruining perfectly good fried pickles. They've got a great concept, but the follow thru isn't there. Eaten there a bunch of times and orders show up wrong A LOT, and the only thing that's consistent is the shakes all taste like they're the same flavor.

  • Dwight V.

First the burgers are a bit greasy, besides that I love this place, I got a double 1/3 lb burger with fried egg and haysack onions and it was soo good. The fries are a little Less than good but they are tasty. The first time I ate at a smashburger was in Colorado and they had a few extra options to choose from and I was dissapointed to not see those here, but still a winner in my book.

  • Chris M.

Been here several times. Damn good burger, very juicy. Honestly, I'm a purist, and I have Just a Cheesburger, so I can't comment on their other toppings. But the burger & bun are fantastic. Honestly, I think the SmashFries have too much Rosemary. It's overpowering, but the "plain" fries aren't bad. Finally, the Haagen-Daaz Malts, are really good. Overall, my current favorite burger place.

My favorite place to get a burger. Twin Cities burger is great. Smash fries are seasoned perfectly. Also doesn't hurt they have Schell's beer.

Gross... Super greasy, Luke warm and completely fell apart after 2-3 bites. Fries came with a puddle of oil under them, yes fries are greasy but not WET. Two stars for a decent chocolate malt.

  • Thaddeus S.

It's the grease man. Have you ever thought you over cooked a burger at home only to realize it had savory carmelized crust that just couldn't get enough of? Smashburger's burgers are kind of like that. They squeeze the patties on the grill so the grease runs out and almost semi deep fry's the burgers in their own burger grease. It creates a wonderful crispy and flavorful version of everything that is wrong with my waist line. IMO they just got the greasy burger flavor nailed. The fries are average, but who cares I here for the burgers. The bun is OK, but then again who cares I'm just here for the burgers. Oh, who am I kidding, it's the grease man! If they would put some of it in a cup, I'd probably drink it.

I had a regular old cheeseburger, which was really good, though soggy after a few minutes. Totally worth what I'm sure was a ton of calories. The SmashFries were just okay to me. I'd probably get regular fries if I went back. Shake was GOOD.

I do not eat (beef) burgers. I was going to opt for a veggie burger but then I looked at the nutritional info and got scared. So I chose the spinach and goat cheese salad, with chicken. It arrived in a humongous bowl and they did not skimp on the ingredients. It was a really good salad at a good price that I would probably pay between $5 and $10 more at a "real" (not fast food) restaurant. Compared to any other burger place, this comes across as much more gourmet. My colleagues love the burgers and even their black bean burger received rave reviews.

Decent burger & fries. I wouldn't concider them fantastic, but the smash fries were tasty .

I'd like to think that someone at Smashburger read my previous review, because our last trip to Smash was the exact opposite of the previous visit. In the spirit of the Scientific Method, we ordered the Twin Cities Smashburger, hoping to experience the same level of deliciousness as we had at the Yelp event earlier this year. One bite into our meal, that warm fuzzy feeling came rushing back. Paired with Sweet Potato Fries that were delivered fresh and hot...the burger stayed together, and the onions were fried to perfection. Consider us well on the way to proving our hypothesis that Smashburger serves food that is out of this world. If our review was read, and feedback was given to the local staff...thank goodness for Yelp!

If I can't get over to the Convention Grill for a burger and shake, Smashburger provides the best alternative. Great burgers, tasty fries and beer.

Thanks to groupon I finally checked this place out. I am not a burger fan - I am a veggie burger fan though so that is why I wanted to check this place out. I consider myself a veggie burger connoisseur. I had the Spicy Baja Black Bean Burger and I can say it was quite delicious. Unfortunetly it fell apart almost instantly. This can happen with veggie burgers but most good ones it won't. It was still enjoyable with a fork and knife. We also had the deep fried pickles which were very good - even better than the state fair ones! My husband had the spicy baja burger and did really enjoy it. The service was great as well given it was the day after the groupon came out and things were a bit busy. We had our food within 10 minutes and when I tried to help clean the table someone quickly darted over and took care of it. I will return for another veggie burger and just hope it stays in one piece!

Never let me or my wife down. It's not the cheapest or the most expensive, but I've always had a good meal here. My wife is not a burger fan, but it's telling that when she wants one, she say's, "It's time to get a Smashburger". I have had most of their burgers (mostly because my wife loves variety and insists on exchanging "bites"), but I pretty much like the Twin Cities burger. We usually get the Smash Fries and they're pretty good too. My cholesterol has fits, but then if that's a problem, I should have a rice cake.

I was back in town and wanted to give this location a second chance. We had a horrible time previously and were very happy that this visit was much better. I still don't like the placement of their menus. It's a little awkward with one in the window and then some laminated ones near the front and another to the side instead of behind the register, front and center; however, the customer service made up for this. This time a friendly employee, Rene, greeted us, took our order, double checked it and told us to take a seat and we'd be taken care of. Our food arrived quickly. It was fresh and delicious. We all had the signature Twin Cities and I enjoyed it. My favorite is still the Windy City, so I feel bad for all my MN friends until they bring it back. Upon leaving they thanked us for our business and told us to come again.

Horrible. My third time here. It gets worse each time! I thought maybe I should try again, after hearing all the buzz..maybe the previous two was just a bad ones. Not so. The smashburger is a super greasy burger and not in a good way - it's the kind that sits in your stomache kinda greasy. The Smashfires with the fancy seasoning, sounds like it would be good but it's lukewarm and soggy so the fancy seasoning is put to waste. Restaurant layout is cramped and uncomfortable, during cold months when the patio is closed. Will not be back. If I have a craving for a burger, I'm going to Burger King next time for better food, atmosphere, experience and save $!
